The cause of the trip was an over-current ground fault on the No.3 reactor coolant pump motor. The motor was replaced. Unit 2 was in Mode 5 at the end of the month.

Summary: Unit 2 was operating at 100 percent power until the December 26 scram. Unit 2 capacity factor for December was 84.7 percent.

No power operated relief valves or safety valves were challenged in December.
