Dear Mr. Kansler:

In reviewing your submittal of June 5, 2002, concerning an amendment to allow the implementation of an alternate source term to the fuel-handling accident, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has determined that there is a need for additional information to complete the review. The information needed was e-mailed to your staff on November 5, 2002, and, thus we are enclosing the request for additional information. Your staff has indicated that you can respond within 30 days from receipt of this letter.

2. In Section 2 of Appendix B to Regulatory Guide 1.183, the NRC staff stated that the iodine chemical species above the pool water (and released to the environment) is composed of 57% elemental and 43% organic. What did you assume in your radiological analysis?
