Cook Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2 EMERGENCY PLAN, REVISION 17a Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(q), Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), the licensee for Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant (CNP) Units 1 and 2, is submitting Revision 17a to the CNP Emergency Plan. 10 CFR 50.54(q) allows licensees to make changes to their plant's emergency plan without prior Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approval providing that the changes do not reduce the effectiveness of the plan, and the plan continues to meet the standards of 10CFR50.47(b) and the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E.
Additionally, 10 CFR 50.54(q) requires that licensees notify the NRC within 30 days after the changes are made.
Revision 17a to the CNP Emergency Plan, which became effective October 14, 2002, incorporates changes made to Planning Standard B, Table 1, -CNP Staffing for Radiological Emergencies." to this letter contains a description of the changes that have been made, Enclosure 2 to this letter contains a marked-up page for Planning Standard B, Table 1, showing the changes, and Enclosure 3 to this letter contains the replacement page for Planning Standard B, Table 1.
The changes to the CNP Emergency Plan have been evaluated in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q), and I&M has determined that the changes do not decrease the effectiveness of the plan, and the plan continues to meet the standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E.
