FORTHCOMING MEETING WITH THE PUBLIC IN DAYTON, TENNESSEE, TO DISCUSS RECENTLY COMPLETED NRC SAFETY EVALUATIONS FOR TRITIUM PRODUCTION DATE & TIME: Wednesday, October 30, 2002 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with an open house starting at 6 p.m.

LOCATION: Rhea County Welcome Center Community Room 107 Main Street Dayton, Tennessee 37321-1320 PURPOSE: The NRC is holding a public meeting to explain the recently completed NRC environmental assessments and safety evaluations for tritium production. Tritium production is planned for Tennessee Valley Authoritys Watts Bar nuclear power plant near Spring City, and the Sequoyah nuclear power plants near Chattanooga. The meeting will feature open discussion among all attendees and will include a question-and-answer session. For related information, see License Amendment No. 40 (ADAMS Accession No. ML0225409250) for Watts Bar, and Amendment Nos. 278 and 269 for Sequoyah, Units 1 and 2 (ADAMS Accession No. ML022820770).
