Dairyland Power Cooperative La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR)

Possession-Only License No. DPR-45 Request for Preliminary Meeting on Possible Dry Fuel Storage and Transport Options Dairyland Power Cooperative (DPC), owner and operator of the subject facility, is requesting a preliminary meeting with the Spent Nuclear Fuel Project Office to discuss the possible options for the disposition of 333 irradiated fuel elements stored in the LACBWR spent fuel pool.

Attachment I provides a plant summary and description of the spent fuel. Attachment 2 is our proposed agenda for the preliminary meeting with the appropriate members of your group.

DPC is in the process of assessing the alternatives to continued wet fuel storage and issues related to the disposal of the reactor vessel.

We believe that a meeting with your office would take approximately three hours, and we would like to meet with you sometime during the second half of September or the first half of October. Attachment 3 identifies prospective attendees, with their respective titles, all of whom have indicated they are available during the specified time period.
