SUBJECT:
DEGRADATION OF THE DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL HEAD LESSONS-LEARNED REPORT This memorandum forwards the Final Report, dated September 30, 2002, of the Davis-Besse Reactor Vessel Head Degradation Lessons-Learned Task Force. The objective of the Task Force was to conduct an independent evaluation of the NRCs regulatory processes related to assuring reactor vessel head integrity and to identify and recommend areas of improvement applicable to the NRC and the industry. The objectives, scope, expected product, and schedule for the Task Force effort were defined in a memorandum from William D. Travers to Arthur T. Howell, III dated May 15, 2002 (ADAMS Accession No. ML021370684).
