OMB CLEARANCE 3150-0018 10 CFR PART 55, OPERATORS LICENSES CONSULTATIONS OUTSIDE THE NRC FOR THE 2003 EXTENSION The following individuals were contacted to validate the power reactor burden estimates. Each individual was emailed a copy of the previous Table 12(a) summarizing the burden estimates in advance of a telephone conversation on the dates specified, during which all of the reporting and recordkeeping requirements were briefly reviewed and estimates obtained.

1.

James Calvert; South Texas Project; 361-972-7435; 9/12/2002 2.

Mike Doucet; Fermi; 734-586-4121; 9/16/2002 3.

Gerry Laska; NRC Region II, formerly Farley; 404-564-4626; 9/10/2002 4.

James Reid; Hope Creek; 856-339-3896; 9/13/2002 The non-power examination staff contacted personnel at a small facility (Rolla; representing about 35/40 non-power facilities) and a large facility (Columbia; representing 5/40 facilities) to validate the burden for submitting the reference materials for the initial licensing examinations (the most substantial burden). It was not deemed necessary to validate the other reporting requirements due to their size and frequency; moreover, the non-power staff has never conducted a requalification examination or requested a facility to submit its exams to support an inspection, so licensees would have no better basis to estimate the burden than the staff does.

The results are summarized in the following table.
