BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1, 2 AND 3; SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2; WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 1 REPLY TO LICENSEES RESPONSE TO ORDER FOR INTERIM SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY COMPENSATORY MEASURES (TAC NOS. MB4100, MB4101, MB4102, MB4180, MB4181, AND MB4196)
Dear Mr. Burzynski:
On February 25, 2002, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued an Order modifying the operating license for the Browns Ferry, Sequoyah and Watts Bar Nuclear Plants (BFN, SQN and WBN) to require compliance with the specified interim safeguards and security compensatory measures.
The NRC staff s letter of May 14, 2002, addressed your earlier responses to the Order and granted, in response to your request, an extension of time until July 3, 2002, for your submission of the required response for interim compensatory measures (ICM) B.2.a (1 & 2),
B.2.b and B.4.g.
The NRC staff has reviewed your response to ICM B.2.a (1 & 2), B.2b and B.4.g submitted by your letter of July 3, 2002, and finds that you have satisfied the current reporting requirements of the Order.
The NRC will determine the effectiveness of your implementation of the ICMs through on-site inspections. I would like to remind you that, pursuant to Section III.C.2 of the Order, you are to report to the Commission when you have achieved full compliance with the requirements described in Attachment 2 to the Order.
