SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2, REPLY TO RESPONSE TO ORDER FOR INTERIM SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY COMPENSATORY MEASURES (TAC NOS. MB4187 AND MB4188)
Dear Mr. Shriver:
On February 25, 2002, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Orders modifying the operating licenses for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2, to require compliance with the specified interim safeguards and security compensatory measures.
You responded to the Orders by letter dated March 15, 2002, as supplemented May 24, 2002, and requested an extension of time until June 20, 2002, for your submission of the required response for interim compensatory measures (ICM) B.2.a(1 and 2), B.2.b and B.4.e. The NRC staffs letter of June 18, 2002, addressed your earlier response to the Orders and granted you an extension until June 20, 2002, to respond to ICMs B.2.a(1 and 2), B.2.b and B.4.e.
The NRC staff has reviewed your response to ICMs B.2.a(1 and 2), B.2.b and B.4.e, submitted by your letter of June 17, 2002, and finds that you have satisfied the current reporting requirements of the Orders.
By letter dated August 30, 2002, you indicated that you have achieved full compliance with all of the ICMs in the Orders. The NRC will determine the effectiveness of your implementation of the ICMs through on-site inspections.
