POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF RELIEF REQUESTS MR 02-004-1 AND MR 02-004-2 (TAC NO. MB4810)
Dear Mr. Cayia:
By letter dated April 17, 2002, the Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC), submitted Relief Requests MR 02-004-1 and MR 02-004-2, which were related to NMCs response dated April 2, 2002, to NRC Bulletin 2002-01, Reactor Pressure Vessel Head Degradation and Reactor Coolant Pressure Boundary Integrity. These relief requests were submitted in the event that repairs were needed to address adverse conditions that might be found during the inspection of the reactor vessel head. By letter dated May 15, 2002, NMC stated that the visual inspection showed that the head is in very good condition, with no evidence of leakage, and withdrew the relief requests.
Based on NMCs stated inspection results, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff agrees that the relief requests are not needed. Therefore, we have ceased our review and accordingly, TAC No. MB4810 is closed.
