YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION - BASES CHANGES FOR CRANE TRAVEL OVER THE SPENT FUEL PIT (TAC NO. MB5634)

Dear Mr. Kay:

The staff has incorporated the revision of the technical specification (TS) Bases provided by your letter of February 20, 2002. The change for TS 3/4.2, "Crane Travel - Spent Fuel Pit," was made to reflect the use of yard crane auxiliary hook for moving the cask hatch or for placement of the spent fuel cask shield lid when the cask is loaded with spent fuel.

The staff has reviewed the change and finds the revision to the Bases to be acceptable.
