MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - PLANS FOR AN INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATION AT THE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT 327 AND 50-328

Dear Mr. Scalice:

This letter confirms the communication between Mr. Z. Kitts of the Sequoyah Nuclear facility and Dr. W. Gloersen of my staff on July 3, 2002, concerning a meeting to be conducted on August 20, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Your staff requested this meeting to present your plans for spent fuel dry storage at the Sequoyah Nuclear facility. The location of the meeting will be at the NRC Region II Office, 61 Forsyth Street, SW, Conference Room 24T20 of the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, Atlanta, Georgia. This meeting will be an open meeting as per "Staff Meetings Open to the Public; Final Policy Statement" (September 20, 2000; 65 FR 56964).

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in NRCs Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/ADAMS.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
