July 19, 2002 The Honorable Mary Ann Dailey, Member Pennsylvania House of Representatives House Box 202020 Room 408, South Office Building Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17120-2020
Dear Representative Dailey:
I am responding to your letter of June 5, 2002, to Chairman Richard A. Meserve regarding the proposal to build a gas-fired power plant adjacent to the Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2. As you stated in your letter, Mr. Thomas DiBello, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Limerick Township, expressed concerns regarding the project.
Accordingly, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff conducted a review of the impact of the proposed gas-fired plant on the safe operation of LGS Units 1 and 2. Based on the information currently available, the staff concluded that the project does not pose a hazard to the safe operation of LGS Units 1 and 2. The details of the staffs review are enclosed in a letter to Mr. DiBello dated July 10, 2002. I trust that this review will also address your concerns regarding the project. If you have further questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
/RA by William F. Kane Acting For/
