ST. LUCIE NUCLEAR PLANT - SENIOR REACTOR OPERATOR RETAKE
EXAMINATION REPORT 50-335/02-301 AND 50-389/02-301
Dear Mr. Stall:
On April 22, 2002, the NRC authorized your staff to administer two Senior Reactor Operator
(SRO) retake written examinations to employees of your company who had applied for licenses
to operate the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. The NRC waived the operating
examination for the SRO applicants. At the conclusion of the examination, the examiner
discussed the examination questions and preliminary findings with those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed report.
The two SRO applicants passed the initial retake written examination, representing a 100
percent pass rate.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its
enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room
or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
ER 50-335/2002-301 and ER 50-389/2002-301 on 4/22/2002, Florida Power & Light Company,
St. Lucie Plant, Units 1 & 2, Licensed Operator Examinations.
The NRC authorized your staff to administer the Senior Reactor Operator retake written
examination in accordance with the guidance of Examination Standards, (ES) NUREG-1021,
Revision 8, Supplement 1. This examination implemented the Senior Operator licensing
requirements of 10 CFR §55.43. No significant issues were identified.

Scope
The licensee administered a retake written examination to two SRO applicants on
April 22, 2002. The licensee developed the examination in accordance with NUREG 1021, Revision 8, Supplement 1. The two SRO applicants were granted waivers for the
operating examinations previously passed during the initial examination conducted in
May 2001.

Findings
No findings of significance were identified. All applicants passed the examination.
