Dear Major Finlayson:

I am responding to your letter of April 14, 2002, regarding the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) head degradation at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. A copy of your letter is enclosed as . You requested my assistance in reaching parties who might be interested in the monitoring technology that your company has developed for detecting corrosion and verifying wall loss as it occurs on RPV heads. NRC does not routinely forward letters such as yours to our licensees, nor do we make their mailing addresses available to the public.

I am forwarding your letter for consideration to Mr. Kurt Cozens at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) in Washington, D.C. NEI is the policy organization of the nuclear energy and technologies industry, and its members include the nations nuclear utilities, plant designers, architect/engineering firms, and fuel cycle companies. Mr. Cozens indicated that he will also forward your letter to the Electric Power Research Institutes Materials Reliability Program Repair and Mitigation Committee for their consideration.
