Jensen Beach, FL 34957

Dear Ms. Gooden:

On behalf of the staff at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I wanted to express our sincere appreciation for your assistance in supporting the recent audit and public meetings on Florida Power and Lights license renewal application for the St. Lucie Plant, Units 1 and 2.

Your support in providing meeting space at your facility for our review team greatly assisted the team's efforts. We also appreciated the support you provided for receipt, storage, and return shipping of our meeting supplies.

The NRC staff intends to hold a second public meeting to discuss the draft environmental impact statement related to the St. Lucie license renewal application in early December 2002, and we look forward to your support and the opportunity to work with you and your staff again.

If you need to reach me my phone number is 301-415-1191 and E-mail is MTM2@NRC.GOV.

Sincerely, Original Signed By: MTMasnik Michael T. Masnik, Senior Project Manager License Renewal and Environmental Impacts Division of Regulatory Improvement Programs Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation
