April 29, 2002 Mr. Robert E. Minsky, Mayor Port St. Lucie City Hall 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd.
Port St. Lucie, FL 34984-5099
Dear Mayor Minsky:
On behalf of the staff at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I wanted to express our sincere appreciation for your assistance in supporting the recent public meetings on Florida Power and Lights license renewal application for the St. Lucie Plant, Units 1 and 2. Your willingness to provide facility space and the outstanding support of your staff, particularly Nina Baranski and Pat Garthwaite, enhanced the publics opportunity to participate in our license renewal process.
As noted during the meeting, the NRC staff intends to hold a second public meeting to discuss the draft environmental impact statement related to the St. Lucie license renewal application in early December 2002, and we look forward to your support and the opportunity to work with you and your staff again. If you or your staff need to reach me my phone number is 301-415-1191 and E-mail is MTM2@NRC.GOV.
