To discuss the preliminary Red finding concerning the potential common mode failure of auxiliary feedwater at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant. The finding involved inadequate procedural guidance for addressing loss of instrument air to the auxiliary feedwater pump recirculation valves. NRC inspection findings are evaluated with a four step assessment of their safety significance, ranging from Green for a finding of minor significance, through White and Yellow to Red, for a finding of high safety significance.
