Attached are revised Monthly Operating Reports for Perry Unit 1 from May to October 2001.

These reports are being resubmitted because of an error in the Net Electrical Energy line on page 1 in the May report. The error was carried through in the Year-to-Date and Cumulative numbers in the following months until the November's report when the error was discovered and corrected.

4 The unit was manually shutdown and the turbine taken off line. A manual scram was subsequently inserted due to degraded vacuum. The forced outage was due to a stator water leak, which cools the generator.

2 The unit was manually shutdown due to circulating water pump impeller damage.

SUMMARY

The Perry plant began the month shutdown. Unit was synchronized to the grid at 1746 on the 5th of May. A shutdown was performed on 5/8/01 at 0009 to replace the pump seal on the Reactor recirculation pump B. Repairs were complete and the unit was on line at 0757 on 5/15/01. During the 15th startup the unit only had two circulating water pumps available and was restricted to approximately 70% power. On 5/21/01 at 0819 the unit was taken off line due to the loss of an additional circulating water pump leaving only one available pump. The plant ended the month shutdown.

The unit shutdown due to circulating water pump impeller damage. Plant shutdown to repair all three impellers and motors for the circulating water system pumps.

  • These are the hours off line for the month of June. The total duration of the outage is 298.08 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br />.

SUMMARY

The Perry plant began the month shutdown. The unit was synchronized to the grid at 1824 on the 2nd of June. 100% power was achieved at 0658 on 6/14, when the third circulating water Pump became available for operation. The unit ended the month at full power.

3 The plant had an automatic scram on 7/11/01 at 2227. The scram was as a result of a power loss due to a blown fuse.

The Perry plant began the month on line. On 7/11/01 2227 the plant incurred an automatic shutdown due to a blown fuse. The unit remained off line until 7/31/01 at 0048, when the Unit was sychronized to the grid.
