SUMMARY
OF THE MARCH 26, 2002 MEETING WITH MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT TO DISCUSS PERFORMANCE On March 26, 2002, a public meeting was held at the Xcel Energy Training Center located at 2100 West River Street, Monticello, MN, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant management and staff. The meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plants performance for the period of April 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001. In addition, Mr. J. Forbes, Site Vice President, discussed the licensee's assessment of its performance for the calendar year 2001.
During the NRC presentation, an overall assessment of Monticello Nuclear Generating Plants performance was provided. As explained in the March 4, 2002 Annual Assessment letter from NRC to Mr. J. Forbes, (reference ADAMS accession number ML020700239) the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives.
