Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Technical Specification 4.4.5.5a Report of Steam Generator Tube Plugging Ladies and Gentlemen:

This letter is submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS) Unit Number 1, Operating License, Appendix A, Technical Specifications.

Technical Specification 4.4.5.5a requires FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) to report to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the number of tubes plugged in each steam generator (SG) following each inservice inspection of steam generator tubes.

The Thirteenth Refueling Outage SG tube inservice inspection was completed on March 9, 2002.

As a result of the inspection findings and outage activities, 57 tubes were plugged in SG 1-1 and 126 tubes were plugged in SG 1-2. There were 8 tube-to-tubesheet rerolls installed in the SG 1-1 upper tubesheet and 32 tube-to-tubesheet rerolls installed in the SG 1-2 upper tubesheet. No sleeves were installed.
