Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-440, License No. NPF-58 Order for Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures Ladies and Gentlemen:
The FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) has reviewed the Order for Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures for the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP), issued on February 25, 2002. This Order, which modifies the current operating license for PNPP, requires a response regarding the implementation of the requirements set forth in Attachment 2 to the Order.
The Perry Nuclear Power Plant intends to comply with the requirements described in to the Order. The current status of the PNPP implementation of each of these requirements is listed in the Attachment to this response. In instances where compliance has not yet been achieved, a schedule for implementation has been provided, with the exception of Interim Compensatory Measure B.2.a, which will be provided at a later date. For the implementation schedules provided in the Attachment, complete implementation will be achieved no later than August 31, 2002 as required by the Order.
The information contained in the Attachment to this letter is considered Safeguards Information under the provisions of 10 CFR 73.21, and is thereby exempt from public disclosure. Upon separation of the Attachment, this letter is "decontrolled."
