Box 300 Seabrook, NH 03874 Atlantic (603) 474-9521 The Northeast Utilities System February 20, 2002 Docket No. 50-443 NYN-02012 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 Seabrook Station 2001 Annual Report of Challenges to Pressurizer Power-Operated Relief Valves and Pressurizer Safety Valves Seabrook Station Technical Specification 6.8.1.2.c requires an annual report of challenges to pressurizer power-operated relief valves and pressurizer safety valves. In accordance with this requirement, North Atlantic Energy Service Corporation hereby reports that during 2001, there were five challenges to the Seabrook Station pressurizer power-operated relief valves and pressurizer safety valves during a single event. On March 5, 2001, during a plant transient and subsequent trip, the A-train Power-Operated Relief Valve (PORV) opened five times in response to the transient. Licensee Event Report 01-002-00 submitted on May 4, 2001 (NYN-01041) reported the event and its details.
