LICENSE RENEWAL SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT FOR TURKEY POINT NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 3 AND 4
Dear Mr. Stall:
By a letter dated September 8, 2000, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL), submitted an application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for renewal of the operating licenses for Turkey Point, Units 3 and 4, for an additional 20 years. The license renewal application (LRA) was submitted pursuant to Title 10, Part 54, of the Code of Federal Regulations. The NRC determined that the LRA was complete and acceptable for docketing on October 4, 2000. Since that time, the NRC staff has reviewed the LRA, issued requests for additional information (RAIs), reviewed FPLs responses to the staffs RAIs, developed an initial SER with open items (dated August 2001), and reviewed FPLs responses to the open items.
On the basis of this review, the staff has developed the enclosed SER to document its findings associated with the safety review of the LRA and supporting documentation for Turkey Point, Units 3 and 4.
