32001-04 JJ BKR Unitl1experienced an automatic turbine/reactor trip at approximately 2319 EST on December 19, 2001. The unit trip resulted from an invalid AMSAC signal.
The AMSAC signal was generated during the placement of a hold order for maintenance of the turbine driven auxiliary feedwater (TDAFW) pump. This activity included the opening of breakers which supply power to the instrument loops for the TDAFW level control valves. The loss of power to the instruments generated an invalid steam generator lo lo level signal which resulted in

Summary:
Following the reactor trip, WBN Unit 1 returned to power production at 08:55 EST on December 21, 2001. Once returned to service, the unit operated at or near 100% power for the balance of the month. No additional significant power reductions or shutdowns occurred during December 2001. There were no challenges to the pressurizer power operated relief valves or pressurizer safety valves during the month of December 2001.
