AGENDA
Purpose:
To discuss a proposed license application for an independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI) at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (Diablo Canyon).
Background:
On December 21, 2001, PG&E submitted an application to store spent fuel from Diablo Canyon at an ISFSI located near the reactor site. At that time, staff from PG&E met with NRC to discuss the format and content of the application. It was determined by NRC that, since the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analysis would be assisting NRC in the review of the application, a similar meeting should take place with CNWRA. This meeting was scheduled for that purpose.
In addition, a portion of this meeting has been designated to discuss how past seismic evaluations for Diablo Canyon have been used in the application to support the seismic evaluation of the ISFSI site.
The following is a schedule of discussion topics. This schedule is subject to change during the meeting.
08:00 AM Introductions/Opening Remarks NRC/PG&E Application Organization PG&E Discussion of Calculations PG&E Scope of Documents Incorporated in the Application by Reference PG&E Unique HI-STORM 100 Design Features and Accident Analysis Incorporated for Diablo Canyon that have not been Previously Reviewed by NRC PG&E Interface between 10 CFR Parts 50 and 72 PG&E Review Schedule NRC/PG&E Noon Lunch 1:00 PM Overview of Seismic Issues PG&E Previous NRC Seismic Evaluations Referenced in the Application PG&E Attachment
