REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (RAI)
ITS 3.3.1, FUNCTION 6, DOC L.21 (TAC Nos. MB 1437 and MB 1432)
This letter transmits our response to the NRC's request for additional information (RAI) regarding the North Anna Power Station (NAPS) Units 1 and 2 proposed Improved Technical Specifications (ITS). The North Anna ITS license amendment request was submitted to the NRC in a December 11, 2000 letter (Serial No.00-606). The NRC requested additional information regarding the proposed allowable value for the overtemperature delta temperature (OTAT) function in a NRC letter dated December 7, 2001 (TAC Nos. MB 1437 and MB 1432).
After evaluating the NRC's request, Dominion has decided that the additional costs that would be required to obtain the NRC's approval of the proposed change are not warranted. Therefore, Dominion is withdrawing the proposed change. The ITS submittal will be revised to reflect the value in the current Technical Specifications, which is more conservative than the value originally proposed in the ITS.
