Dear Mr. Pietrangelo:
This letter is in reference to the petition for rulemaking that you filed with the Commission on September 6, 2001. You request that the Commission amend Appendix K to 10 CFR 50, ECCS Evaluation Models, to allow licensees to voluntarily adopt the most current consensus standard for decay heat power and any subsequent NRC-endorsed revisions to this standard without further rulemaking.
Your request has been docketed as a petition for rulemaking under 10 CFR 2.802 and assigned Docket Number PRM-50-74. We will inform you of the status of your petition as staff action on it progresses.
