Dear Mr. Kenny:
I want to thank you and the Boiling Water Reactor Owners Group (BWROG) for inviting the NRC to the BWROG Emergency Procedure and Severe Accident Guideline Training Workshop held July 30 through August 3. Messrs. Roy Harter and Ken Ross deserve particular recognition for their efforts in arranging and presenting the workshop. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for staff from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and our training and development organization to better understand the emergency procedure and severe accident guidelines, and to more fully appreciate some of the technical decisions and tradeoffs inherent in the guidelines. The open and candid discussions throughout the week were appreciated and will benefit both future interactions with the industry and NRCs training simulator courses.
