Dear Mr. Wiggins:
We are writing to thank you for taking part in the proceedings of the NRCs Pilot Program Evaluation Panel (PPEP). As a member of the PPEP, you provided a valuable focus representing your specific interests. Working diligently with other PPEP members of diverse interests, you helped the agency to achieve a consensus that the new reactor oversight processes should advance to initial industry-wide implementation.
Your frank and open discussions provided an effective communication between the members of the public, representatives of the states, and the members of the NRC staff. Thus, the value of your participation extended far beyond achieving the consensus and preparation of the final report.
Your effective interaction with representatives of diverse groups has set up relationships which will endure and benefit the long-term success of the NRCs new regulatory focus.
The work of the PPEP required a significant amount of your personal time, including attending multiple meetings at the NRC Headquarters. We thank you for your personal investment in this effort and the support provided by your organization.
