STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON FIRE PROTECTION LESSONS LEARNED FROM SHEARON HARRIS, 9:30 A.M., TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2009, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The Commission was briefed first by a panel of stakeholders on the following topics:

Joseph W. Donahue, Vice President Nuclear Engineering & ServicesProgress Energy Carolinas, Inc. on Shearon Harris Transition to NFPA-805 - Lessons Learned Dan Pace, Sr. Vice President, Engineering, FENOC on Transition to NFPA-805 for Davis Besse, Beaver Valley, and Perry Ken Canavan, EPRI on Fire PRA Development Paul Gunter, Director of Reactor Oversight, Beyond Nuclear on Public Stakeholder Perspective on Transition to NFPA-805 The Commission was also briefed by an NRC staff panel on fire protection lessons learned from the Shearon Harris pilot program and planned actions going forward. There were no requirements identified for staff action.
