Letter from Jeffrie J. Keenan (PSEG Nuclear LLC) to U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, dated March 23, 2009 In the referenced letter, PSEG Nuclear LLC (PSEG) proposed an alternative to the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI, "Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Components." The proposed alternative would have permitted the use of full structural weld overlay repairs for weld indications that may have been identified in reactor vessel safe-end to nozzle weld joints during the recently completed Hope Creek RF15 Refueling Outage (RF15). No weld indications requiring repair were identified during RF15. Therefore, PSEG is withdrawing the relief request.
