OPERATIONS

SUMMARY

The Fort Calhoun Station (FCS) was operated at a nominal 98% power throughout the month of March, due to the possibility of hot leg thermal streaming events. No events occurred in March. Receipt of new fuel for the upcoming refueling outage began on March 26 and will continue into April. There has been no change in the status of the lower seal on reactor coolant pump RC-3D. While fuel reliability problems continue to be a challenge the number of leaking fuel pins and reactor coolant activity has been stable for the last 6 months.

SAFETY VALVE OR PORV CHALLENGES/FAILURES No failures or challenges to safety valves or PORVs occurred during the month.
