On June 12,2003, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Generic Letter (GL) 2003-01, "Control Room Habitability," requesting information on this subject (Reference 1). In response to this NRC request, NMC submitted the requested for Prairie lsland Nuclear Generating Plant (PINGP) on December 9, 2003 (L-PI-03-114)

(Reference 2). As part of these responses, NMC committed to submit corresponding Technical Specification (TS) changes to incorporate a Control Room Integrity Program within 180 days from the NRC issuance of TSTF-448 for adoption. Via References 4 and 5, NMC notified the NRC of commitment changes to submit TSTF-448 related TS changes for PINGP.

As part of the comprehensive review underway of the current Radiological Consequences Analysis for PINGP, information provided in References 2 and 3 are currently under review for potential impact and requires further delay of the TSTF-448 License Amendment Request (LAR) until the new Radiological Analysis LAR, currently scheduled for NRC submittal in June 2008, is approved by the NRC and the licensing basis for radiological consequences is updated accordingly.

Document Control Desk Page 2 Thus, in order to allow adequate time to develop an acceptable submittal for Prairie Island, taking in consideration new radiological consequences analysis, NMC is notifying the NRC staff of a revised commitment date for the respective license amendment request (LAR) submittal for PINGP.

The revised commitment is to submit the TSTF-448 related LAR following the guidance of the consolidated line item improvement process (CLIIP) by June 30,2009. This change in commitment has been discussed with the respective NRR Project Manager.

Summarv of Commitments This letter contains one revised commitment for PINGP.
