SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FOR LCR S05-04 REVISION 1-RELOCATION OF RESPONSE TIME TESTING TIME LIMITS CONFIRMATION OF RESPONSE TIME TESTING IN SUPPORT OF REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Letter from PSEG to NRC: LCR S05-04 Revision 1, "Request for Amendment to Technical Specifications - Relocation of Response Time Testing Time Limits, Salem Nuclear Generating Station Unit Nos. 1 and 2, Facility Operating License DPR-70 and DPR-75, Docket No. 50-272 and 50-311," dated August 11, 2006.

The following confirmation is provided in support of the referenced PSEG Nuclear LLC (PSEG) amendment request for the Salem Nuclear Generating Station Units 1 and 2.

The proposed amendment would revise the Salem Unit 1 and 2 Technical Specifications to relocate response time limits for Reactor Trip System (RTS) and Engineered Safety Features Actuation System (ESFAS) from Technical Specifications (TS) tables to the Salem Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR). The proposed changes are consistent with NRC Generic Letter 93-08, Relocation of Technical Specification Tables of Instrument Response Time Limits.

PSEG confirms that the plant procedures for response time testing limits include acceptance criteria that reflect the RTS and ESFAS response time limits in the tables being relocated from the TS to the UFSAR. Other than the TS functional units for which response time is identified as Not Applicable (N/A), the procedure acceptance criteria are less than or equal to the TS response time limit for each of the values being relocated to the UFSAR.

The information provided herein does not invalidate PSEG's evaluation of no significant hazards considerations, using the criteria in 10CFR50.92(c), in our August 11, 2006 request. There are no commitments contained in this letter. In accordance with 1 OCFR50.91 (b)(1), a copy of this submittal is being sent to the State of New Jersey.
