A-46 Generic Letter GL No. 87-02 Gentlemen:

By NRC letter dated March 18, 1992, the NRC requested additional information regarding Florida Power

& Light Company's (FPL's) response to GL 87-02, "Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating

Reactors, Unresolved Safety Issue (USI) A-46 Generic Letter (GL) No. 87-02".

Additionally, the NRC issued a supplementary letter on July 28, 1992 requesting information asked for in a meeting between FPL and the NRC on February 27,

1992, and in NRC letters dated August 4,

1989, and January 23, 1991.

The purpose of this letter is to provide FPL's response to the NRC's letters dated March 18 and July 28/

1992.

The FPL response to NRC letter dated March 18, 1992 is provided as Appendix A (Proprietary).

The FPL response to NRC letter dated July 28, 1992 is provided as Appendix B (Proprietary).
