Docket No. 50-335 and 50-389 Re ulator Guide 1.97 NRC letter (J.
A. Norris to J.
H. Goldberg) dated April 1,
- 1992, notified Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) that the qualification requirements for the safety injection tank level and pressure instrumentation had been generically reduced to Category 3.
In addition, FPL would no longer be bound by the commitment to maintain these instruments as Category 2 and at the discretion of FPL the installed instruments could be replaced with Category 3
instrumentation.
FPL currently does not plan to replace or downgrade the qualification of the safety injection tank level and pressure instruments.
Should FPL determine the need to downgrade the qualification of these instruments in the future this action will be accomplished under 10 CFR 50.59.
