St. Lucie Unit 1 Docket No. 50-335 ASME Code Case N-432 and N-474-1 On December 21,
- 1989, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) notified the NRC in accordance with the ASME Code,Section III, Article NCA-1140 and Section XI, Article IWA-4120 that FPL planned to apply Code Case N-432 and N-474-1 at St. Lucie Unit 1 during the February 1990 Refueling Outage.
On August 14,
- 1991, the NRC notified FPL they had suspended the review of the requested code case applications.
The suspension of review was based on the fact that inspections revealed no leaks and repair was unnecessary.
FPL has emphasized that approval was necessary as a contingency for future inspections especially the upcoming Unit 1 outage.
FPL will be performing an inspection of the Pressurizer Heater Sleeves during the upcoming and possibly future St. Lucie Unit 1 outages.
The Plant Change/Modification (PCM) packages for the repair or replacement are completed except for the code case approvals.
Should the inspection'identify any leaks, FPL will need an expeditious review of this activity to prevent a startup delay.
Please confirm that you can complete the review within two (2) weeks of notification by FPL.
