ATTACHMENT A Summary of Revision 2 Changes to the Fire Protection Evaluation Report Dated December 2002

NRC 2003-0015 ATTACHMENT A Summary of Changes to Fire Protection Evaluation Report The following changes were incorporated into Revision 2 of the Fire Protection Evaluation Report:

"* FPER Section 5.6.2 "Communications" was revised to provide an accurate description of the new 900 MHz radio system.

Paragraph 5.1 was revised to include reference to PBC-218 sheets 20-27.

Section 5.4.5 was revised to Incorporate changes due to MR 00-014 (Addition of Cable Tray Covers Inside Containment).

Section 6.3.5 was revised to clarify design requirements for fire protection fire hose stations and separate design requirements for containment service water hose stations.

Editorial corrections were made to FPER pages 75, 98 and 127 to incorporate Fire Protection Audit A-P-01-19 audit improvement suggestions.

Section 8.2 was revised to change the fire barrier penetration seal inspection frequency from 18 months to 4.5 years, approximately one-third per 18 months.

Section 6.1.2 was revised to clarify the use of current NFPA codes to new fire detector applications.

Section 8.2 was revised to delete requirement to perform daily and weekly electrolyte checks on diesel fire pump P-35B batteries.

Tables 5.2.1-1, 7.1-1 and Table 7.2-1 were revised to indicate that Fire Zone 237 is now a separate fire area - and is no longer included in Fire Area A01-B Revised Section 5.2 to delete reference to Calculation 96-0011. This calculation is not credited by the safe shutdown circuit analysis.

"* Tables 5.2.1-1. 7.1-1 and 7.1-2 were revised to indicate that Fire Zones 272 and 273 are included in Fire Area A01-E not A01-D, move Fire Zones 524, 525, 531, and 536 to new Fire Area A01-G and move Fire Zones 596, 597A, and 600 to new Fire Area A01 H.

Table 7.2-1 was revised to incorporate changes to combustible loading class from Calculation 2002-0039 "Fire Loading Calculation".

Section 6.1 - the description of fire detection system was revised to include the new system of new fire detection system control panels and computers.

Section 2.3.2 was revised to delete reference to TS 15.6.5.3. This Technical Specification was removed from the Technical Specifications via the implementation of Improved Technical Specifications.
