Dear Dr. Grace:
Section 5.4.1 of Appendix B of the Environmental Techical Specificatior.s (ETS) for Turkey Point Plant Units 3 and 4 require the submittal of a Non-Radiological Environmental Monitoring Report annually.
The report is due to the NRC by March 30 of the year following the reporting year.
Listed below is the information required to be reported under ' applicable provisions of the Appendix B ETS:
1.
Sections 5.4.1.1
- Records of Monitoring Requirement Surveys and
- Samples, 5.4.1.2 - Analysis of Environmental Data, 5.4.1.3 - Records of Changes in Survey Procedures.
There were no activities at the plant site in 1985 requiring reporting under these Sections.

- List of Any Special Environmental Studies Related To The Licensed Facility Not Required by the Environmental Technical I
Specifications.
a.
Crocodile monitoring continued at the Turkey Point Plant site during 1985.
The monitoring program has shown the presence and dyn'amic nature of all size classes.of animals on the site.
'For instance, 17 animals from previous hatches were recaptured, thereby documenting weight and length gains.
In the summer 1985, two nests were located which produced a total of 21 hatchlings.
These animals were permanently marked for future identification purposes.

One dead female subadult was recovered from the canal system in 1985.
The final diagnosis was septicemia as a result of extensive wounds caused by an encounter with another crocodile.

A manuscript entitl'ed "New Methods for Live Capture-of Crocodilians" was prepared and is undergoing review prior to submission for publication.
Three other. manuscripts enumerated.
in a prior annual report are in press.
All these manuscripts are based on the extensive crocodilian monitoring program conducted by FPL at the Turkey Point Plant from 1976 to the present.

Fish samples from the cooling canal were collected in ' June and October 1984 and were analyzed for two herbicides in 1985.
No detectable levels of the herbicides used to control exotic-vegetation in the cooling canal system were observed.

- Records of Any Violations of the Environmental Technical Specifications.
No violations of.the Appendix B Environmental Technical. Specifications occurred during 1985.
