On 10/1/83 a satellite transmitter was attached to the turtle and the turtle was released back into the canal. After its capture on 10/6/83 this turtle (with transmitter attached) was again released into the intake canal.
- ABI tag return. This turtle was removed from the intake canal and tagged on 10/15/83. It was held at the House of Refuge until the morning of 10/20/83 at which time it was released 10.5 miles south of the intake canal.

Dear Fred:
Eighteen loggerheads and one green turtle were removed from the St. Lucie Plant intake canal during October 1983. All of these turtles were alive. Three of the loggerheads (AAH 893/894, 895/896 and 897/898) were retained for entrapment deterrent studies, the transmitter equipped turtle (letter of 21 October 1983) was recaptured and released back into the canal, and the other turtles were released into the l
ocean. Measurements for these animals are attached. No turtles were reported from other plants.
