By letter dated May 15, 2013 (Reference 1), Florida Power & Light (FPL,) notified the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission that St. Lucie Units I and 2 had selected Option 2 for resolution of Generic Safety Issue (GSI) 191 (Reference 2), in accordance with the Closure Options specified in Commission Paper SECY-12-0093 (Reference 3). Option 2 includes a Risk-Informed (STP) Approach.
In Reference 1, St. Lucie Units I and 2 committed to submit a preliminary schedule for completion of risk-informed resolution path activities. The preliminary schedule contains key milestone dates for resolution of the issues, and is provided in the enclosure to this letter. This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.

Introduction By letter dated May 15, 2013 (Reference 1), FPL, notified the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that St. Lucie Units I and 2 had selected Option 2 Risk Informed for resolution ofGSI-191, in accordance with the Closure Options specified in Commission Paper SECY-12-0093 (Reference 2). In Reference 1, St. Lucie committed to submit a preliminary schedule for GSI-191 resolution that addresses completion of risk-informed resolution path activities. The preliminary schedule is provided in this enclosure.
2 Milestone Schedule The preliminary schedule provided in this enclosure contains the major milestones for completion of risk-informed resolution path activities. Table 1 presents the major milestones for risk-informed resolution of GSI-191 for St. Lucie Unit 1. Table 2 presents the major milestones for risk-informed resolution of GSI-191 for St. Lucie Unit 2.
