(FES) announced plans to retire the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS), Unit No. 1; the Beaver Valley Power Station (BVPS), Unit Nos. 1 and 2; and the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP), Unit No. 1 due to severe economic challenges. FES is the parent company of FirstEnergy Nuclear Generation, LLC (FENGen), the owner of the facilities.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a't( )(i) and 10 CFR 50.4(b)(8), FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), acting as agent for and on behalf of FENGen, certifies to the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission that FES has decided to permanently cease power operations at DBNPS by May 31,2020; BVPS Unit No. 1 and PNPP by May 31,2021; and BVPS Unit No. 2 by October 31 ,2021.
