SUMMARY

OF MANAGEMENT ACTIONS Medical Review Officer (MRO) Six Month Report From January 1, 2004, through June 30, 2004, our records indicate the following results:

In the licensee personnel pool Pre-Access program category, two (2) confirmed positives for a single substance were documented. In the short-term contractor pool, there was one (1) confirmed positive for a single substance and one (1) confirmed positive for two (2) substances that were documented.

Pre-Access Program In the Pre-Access program category, licensee personnel pool, one (1) security individual was confirmed positive for a single substance. The individual participated in a face-to-face interview with the Medical Review Officer and was provided the opportunity for split sample testing. The Medical Review Officer adjudicated the individual as confirmed positive, recommended denial of unescorted access and encouraged participation in the employer's Employee Assistance Program. This individual was terminated from employment based on the policy of the security contractor. One (1) individual, during the employment process, tested positive for a single substance. The individual participated in a telephonic interview by the Medical Review Officer, and was provided the opportunity for split sample testing. The Medical Review Officer adjudicated the individual as confirmed positive, recommended denial of unescorted access and encouraged the individual to participate in a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program. The offer of employment was rescinded due to the individual's inability to satisfactorily complete the requirements of employment.

In the short-term contractor personnel pool, one (1) confirmed positive for a single substance and one (1) confirmed positive for two (2) substances were experienced. Each individual participated in separate face-to-face interviews with the Medical Review Officer and was provided the opportunity for the split sample testing. The Medical Review Officer adjudicated both individuals as confirmed positive, recommended denial of unescorted access and encouraged each individual to participate in their respective Employee Assistance Programs.

List of Events Reported During the period of January 1, 2004, through June 30, 2004, no events were reported under the provisions of 10 CFR 26.73 by Beaver Valley Power Station.
