Dear Sir:
Reference 1 discussed NUREG-0737 Item II.B.3.2 - Post-Accident Sampling System (PASS), and scheduled completion of the mod-l ification by the end of the Reload 5/ Cycle 6 refueling outage.
Reference 2 transmitted the Commission's Order confirming that schedule.
Reference 3 reaffirmed that a system had been purchased and was being installed.
Reference 3 also discussed the problems en-countered in the dissolved gas portion or the system.
These problems were addressed by the BWR Owners' Group PASS Sub-committee, and a modification to improve the dissolved gas sampling was developed.
Based on the Owners' Group delivery schedule, the Authority anticipated that the corrective modifi-cation would be installed by December 31, 1983.

.w The Authority has recently been informed that delivery has been postponed until 1984.
This delay makes it necessary for us to reschedule installation until after delivery.
It is our. understanding that the Authority.will not be considered in violation of the Confirmatory Order due to this delay.
