Dear Mr. Grier:
The FitzPatrick Plant submitted responses to Items 1, 2.a and 3 of the subject bulletin in Reference 1 ard to Items 2.b in Reference 2.
The FitzPatrick Plant stated, in Peference 3 that due to the time necessary to complete the required analyses, associated modification work was initiated before the completion of these analyses to bring this program to a timely conclusion.
The FitzPatrick Plant further stated that we expected the modifications to these walls to be complete by the end of June 1981, subject to material availability.
The FitzPatrick Plant has determined that the completion of these modifications is not possible by June 30, 1981 for the reasons listed below:
1)
The safety evaluation for the modification installation sequence revealed that the modification of walls in the vicinity of the emergency diesel generators and in the electrical bays could not be performed simultaneously. This work must be performed sequentially to preclude the possible loss of redundaat safety related equipment through the accidental dropping of structural steel components.

Some of the required materials were not received until 30 days beyond the original scheduled delivery date.
Both of the above items have now been resolved and the modification installation is continuing.
Completion of the modifications is expected by July 31, 1981.
Very truly yours, v
