Dear Sir or Madam:

Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO), as operator of the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (JAF), hereby submits its response to the NRC's Request for Additional Information (RAI) regarding the JAF response to Generic Letter 2003-01 (Reference).

The referenced RAI requested JAF commit to submitting a License Amendment Request (LAR) to adopt TSTF-448 after its approval and provide a schedule for the submittal; or provide NRC with a description of an alternative test acceptable to NRC and an explanation of why JAF did not intend to adopt the industry standard.

JAF will submit a License Amendment Request (LAR) to adopt TSTF-448 within 6 months after it has been noticed in the Federal Register as being available under the Consolidated Line Item Improvement Process (CLIIP). contains the commitment made in this letter.
