TELEPHONE NUMBER 02110 2 Maxwell Amurao - RSO (314) 295-5473 Main Office Inspection Next Inspection Date: No change Field Office Inspection Temporary Job Site Inspection PROGRAM SCOPE This was an announced, non-routine, inspection of a broad-scope university located in St. Louis, Missouri, to observe the decommissioning of a ViewRay teletherapy unit. This inspection was performed concurrently with inspections of ViewRay, a State of Ohio licensee operating under reciprocity, and Best Theratronics, NRC License No. 45-31299-0 These two companies performed the decommissioning of the unit and the shipping of the sources. The licensee communicated their plans to decommission the unit with the NRC, including updates when the schedule change PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS The inspector toured the facility to evaluate the licensee's measures for material security, hazard communication, and exposure control, and observed how the licensee met the requirements of securing and controlling access to the sources after their removal from the ViewRay unit. The inspector conducted independent and confirmatory surveys, and found no residual contamination or exposures to members of the public in excess of regulatory limit No violations of NRC requirements were identified as a result of this inspection.
