UNIVERSITY OF UTAH -U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000407/2025410
Dear Dr. Goodell:
From July 14 - 17, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a security inspection at the University of Utah TRIGA Nuclear Reactor facility. The enclosed report documents the inspection results were discussed on July 17, 2025, with you, members of your staff, and members of management.
The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to common defense and security, compliance with the Commissions rules and regulations, and compliance with the conditions of your license. The inspector reviewed your physical security plan, observed the physical security features at your facility, and interviewed personnel. Based on the results of this inspection, no security concerns or findings of significance were identified. No response to this letter is required.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System, accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. However, because of the security-related information contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d), a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
