Areas Inspected: Routine, unannounced safety inspection of: the general employee and nonlicensed training. The inspection involved 26 inspector-hours on-site by one NRC inspector.
Results:
In the two inspection areas, no items of noncompliance or deviations were-identified.

General Employee Training The inspector attended the General Employee Training (CET) video tape lecturo series. This series consisted of radiation protection, security, safety, quality assurance, fire protection, and emergency radiological evacuation.
In addition to the video lectures, an exercise consisting of donning protective clothing, and entry and exit in a simulated contaminated area, was conducted.
The following documents were reviewed:
Technical Specifications - Section 6, Part 6.4
" Training" Updated FSAR - Chapter 13, Part 2
" General Employee Training" Regulatory Guide 1.8 (1977), " Personnel Selection and Training" Regulatory Guide 8.8 (1978) - Information Relevant to ALARA ANSI Standards 3.1 (1978 and 1981), " Selection and Training of Nuclear Power Plant Personnel" The inspector balanced the regulations and guidance contained in the above standards with the GET program and licensee commitments.
The inspector observed that the subject area: General Description of Plant and Facilities >(as identified in ANSI /ANS 3.1) was not addressed by the current GET program. The licensee committed to include this area.
Interim implementation will consist of handout material by mid September 1983, and inclusion into the video lecture series by November 1, 1983.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

3.
Non-Licensed Employee Training and Retraining The training, retraining and drill records and schedule for the fire brigade were reviewed with the Plant Safety Coordinator.
Discussions with QA Personnel regarding certification and recertification of QA/QC Personnel verified that levels of training satisfied the licensee's requirements and NRC regulations.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Exit Interview
The inspector met with representatives (denoted in paragraph 1) at the conclusion of the inspection on July 29, 1983. The scope and findings of the inspection which were discussed during the exit interview are summarized in paragraphs 2 through 3 of this report.
